Tee It UP for the Troops

Over 140 participants enjoyed Tee It Up for the Troops and Plantation Community Foundation's Inaugural Golf Event on Sunday, March 28. The event was a tremendous success.
The proceeds raised at the event were donated to sponsor a dog from Southeastern Guide Dogs for a veteran in South County. The Board of Directors and the Grant Committee sincerely thank the many Sponsors, Silent Auction contributors, Volunteers, PG&CC staff and golfers who played in the event.

Alter Eagles

Over 191 Eagles fans participated in the PCF's second fundraising event of 2020-2021 held on March 7th. Good food, good music, with good friends.....made for a perfect evening.
The money raised at the event was used by the Foundation to award grants to qualified South Sarasota County non-profit organizations. The Board of Directors and the Grant Committee sincerely thank everyone who attended, made a contribution, volunteered and/or donated to the Silent Auction.

Bluegrass & BBQ

Our first event of the 2020-21 Fundraising Season, Bluegrass & BBQ, was a sold-out event.  A guitar strumming evening with music provided by "Midnight Train" was enjoyed by all.

Impact Grant


      The PCF was able to award 2 Community Impact Grants in 2019.

      $26,000 was awarded to InStride Therapy to start a new therapeutic program for veterans suffering from PTSD and related conditions.     

     $48,000 was awarded to the Senior Friendship Center in Venice to fully upgrade two of their client lavatories.   


     The 2018 Impact Grant was awarded to Literacy Volunteers of South Sarasota County.  President Bob Hayden and the Impact Grant Committee presented the grant check to Joe Pokorney, LVSSC President, and Claudia Daniels, grant writer and Board Member.   

     The award of $19,271, will be used to fund a Study-Lab Program located in the Family Services Center, North Port, FL.  


The 2017 Impact Grant awarded to Habitat for Humanity South Sarasota County is presented to Aimee Holmes, Chief Develpment Officer.   

The Foundation has generously partnered with Habitat to launch a new home revitalization program, A Brush with Kindness. The award of $16,000, along with paint donated by Sherwin Williams, will be used to paint one home per month for a qualified homeowner. 


Members of Plantation Community Foundation celebrate, with volunteers and the Executive Director of the Englewood Community Care Clinic, Inc., the Community "Impact Grant" which is funding a complete new laboratory.



Plantation Community Foundation's partnership with Gulf Coast Community Foundation provided funding for two new STEMsmart (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) classrooms in Venice Middle School.
