Once again our fund-raising activities achieved their goal and we were able to award $122,500 this year at the annual Grant Awards Luncheon to 48 agencies and organizations. It was a very rewarding experience to be able to make those awards to so many organizations that do so much good in our community - neighbor to neighbor “Making a Difference.” Our Royal Ride, Celebrity Classic, and Spring Fashion Show activities were all very successful and involved many wonderful volunteers. To each Foundation member, volunteer and event participant, we express our sincere appreciation.

Keep your information accurate……..Don’t forget to notify the PCF office if you have a change of information.
Back by popular demand....Plantation Community Foundation Notecards and Donation In Honor Of cards (these make great hostess gifts) are available in the Foundation Office. Six cards for $5.00. Come "buy" the office in September for yours!
Fabulous "Fun" Raiser .......... Get ready for a totally revamped November party formerly known as the Fall Frolic/Royal Ride! This year's party will be emphasizing entertainment. We have already retained a major, professional entertainer who will be performing for us that evening. We will still have raffles and the auction, but we will be compressing time spent on these activities.
With apologies to the turkey dinner lovers, there will be two new dining choices this year for your enjoyment.
We will also be projecting an Art Deco feel for the evening through table settings and lighting and hope that you will enjoy the new look and feel.
If you had stopped attending or never attended this event, please give it a try. It promises to be very different, very lively and very entertaining. Both Foundation members and non-members are invited, so please mark your calendar now for November 15 and join us for a truly "fun" evening.
“Bluegrass & Barbeque” ........... an event you won’t want to miss!!
The Plantation Community Foundation has added a new and exciting event to its spring 2019 calendar with a performance by “Bluegrass Central” – one of the best bands around - on Friday evening, April 5. Audience members will be treated to an evening of specialized music in a casual atmosphere on the grounds of the Plantation Golf & Country Club. Reservation information will be available in early 2019.
In the Spring of 2017, the Plantation Community Foundation generously partnered with Habitat for Humanity South Sarasota County, Inc. to launch a new home revitalization program, "A Brush with Kindness". Through the PCF’s $16,000 impact grant and paint donated by Sherwin-Williams, volunteers are painting one home for a qualified homeowner per month. You do not need to be handy with a paint brush to volunteer for this project. Give back to the community. Gather your friends and contact the PCF office to be a part of "A Brush with Kindness".
If you know of someone who qualifies for this program, please contact Brian Scott at (941) 493-6606 ext. 226 for an application. For more information on A Brush with Kindness program, contact Habitat SSC Construction Manager, Michael Sollitto at (941) 493-6606 ext. 231.
