This season, with your help, the Foundation granted more than $120,000 to charities in South Sarasota County. In addition, on April 6th we presented a check to Habitat for Humanity for $16,000 to sponsor a project to paint 12 homes over the next year. The project is called a Brush for Humanity and you will be hearing more about it over the next few months. As always we will be looking for volunteers to “man those brushes”..... It was a banner year!
January 1st marked the beginning of a new year to once again, "Make a Difference"!
All renewing or new PCF members had their name placed in a drawing.

We are privileged and fortunate to live in this community. As such, whether we are American citizens or a citizen of another country, we are motivated to make our community better for everyone who lives here by giving something back … to “Make a Difference”
Membership is the life blood of our organization, and our many volunteers are the engine that makes a difference in the community. Take a quick look at the Grants portion of this site to get a detailed view of all we accomplish each year.
Join us to experience the success of achieving a common goal, and to experience the joy and satisfaction of seeing the fundraising results and volunteerism benefiting those in South County. You will be glad you did!
With your help we will continue to make a difference in a lot of homes in South County.
Please help us by telling your friends and neighbors about how the Foundation improves the quality of life right here in our own “back yard”. We find that many residents are aware of the Foundation but often think we are a part of the Golf Club. They often join when they become aware that we are a separate charity focused on our mission of giving back to the local community in social services, education, health services, and support to the arts.
Our membership year is January through December, so plan on being part of our 2017 Membership Drive.
The 2017 Impact Grant awarded to Habitat for Humanity South Sarasota County is presented to Aimee Holmes, Chief Develpment Officer.
The Foundation has generously partnered with Habitat to lauch a new home revitalization program, A Brush with Kindness. The award of $16,000, along with paint donated by Sherwin Williams, will be used to paint one home per month for a qualified homeowner. This is a one-year program that will benefit income-qualified homewoners in need. It is Habitat's intent to help South Sarasota's most vulnerable population revitalize their homes with pride and dignity.
The Englewood Community Care Clinic, Inc. dedicated the beginning of its compact new laboratory to the Plantation Community Foundation. Members of the Foundation's Impact Grant Committee, Foundation Board Members, Clinic volunteers and the Executive Director attended a ribbon cutting ceremony. The Clinic plans to add equipment to its lab with the remaining $12,000 in funds from the grant.
