Tournament Details

 

  • The cost is $375 for Foundation member Amateur players ($385 non member) and includes a guest at the March 1 banquet.
 
  • If you are signing up to play and you have already been registered as a guest on another player’s entry your cost is reduced to $200.

 

  • If you have a 2, 3 or 4 member team, please be sure to enter the captain’s name so you will play together.

 

  • Amateur players and a guest will have a banquet meal March 1 at 6 pm at Plantation G&CC. All food and drinks included. Jackets requested for men.

 

  • The date of play is March 2, 2020. Registration starts at 9 am. Shotgun start at 12:30. Two golf courses, up to 50 teams.

 

  • Amateur players will receive a gift bag on the day of play.

 

  • Lunch provided for all players at Plantation Club starting st 11 am.

 

  • Four sets of tees in use. One for male pros, one for female pros, one for male amateurs, one for female amateurs. 

 

  • The game is a Modified Scramble where the pro plays their own ball all the way and keeps their own score. 

 

  • Each pro will be paired with up to 4 amateurs. Amateur’s have the option of using the pro’s drive or their team’s best drive and then play a scramble the rest of the way.

 

  • Pros are competing for cash prizes. With 2 courses in use prizes are as follows for each course: First-$1000, Second-$400, Third-$200.

     

  • All pro players receive a $100 appearance fee.

 

  • The Amateurs are competing for $3,000 in Country Club credits. $1,500 per course, 5 winners per course, $500, $400, $300, $200, $100.

 

  • There will be an optional amateur putting contest set up before play on March 2. $200 cash prize for closest to the hole. $10 to enter.

 

  • There will be an Awards Party immediately after play for all players. Food and drinks provided.

Impact Grant

2019

      The PCF was able to award 2 Community Impact Grants in 2019.

      $26,000 was awarded to InStride Therapy to start a new therapeutic program for veterans suffering from PTSD and related conditions.     

     $48,000 was awarded to the Senior Friendship Center in Venice to fully upgrade two of their client lavatories.   

2018

     The 2018 Impact Grant was awarded to Literacy Volunteers of South Sarasota County.  President Bob Hayden and the Impact Grant Committee presented the grant check to Joe Pokorney, LVSSC President, and Claudia Daniels, grant writer and Board Member.   

     The award of $19,271, will be used to fund a Study-Lab Program located in the Family Services Center, North Port, FL.  

2017

The 2017 Impact Grant awarded to Habitat for Humanity South Sarasota County is presented to Aimee Holmes, Chief Develpment Officer.   

The Foundation has generously partnered with Habitat to lauch a new home revitalization program, A Brush with Kindness. The award of $16,000, along with paint donated by Sherwin Williams, will be used to paint one home per month for a qualified homeowner. 

2016

Members of Plantation Community Foundation celebrate, with volunteers and the Executive Director of the Englewood Community Care Clinic, Inc., the Community "Impact Grant" which is funding a complete new laboratory.

2014-2015

Partnership

Plantation Community Foundation's partnership with Gulf Coast Community Foundation provided funding for two new STEMsmart (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) classrooms in Venice Middle School.
