A Fabulous "Fun" Raiser
The Plantation Community Foundation hosted its first fundraising event of the 2019-20 season on Thursday, November 14 at the Plantation Golf & Country Club in Venice.
The event featured the “Atlantic City Boys” performing rock-n-roll harmonies of the Beach Boys, Drifters, the BeeGees and of course Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, a lively auction, cash prize drawings and great food. A 1950’s-60’s theme was the style for the night and most of the attendees dressed in the Bobby Sox/Hippie attire. The Foundation’s first fundraising event of the season outdid itself with over 300 participants. A fabulous time was had by all participants who helped kick off the season.

As one of our grant recipients, the Twig Warehouse, whose organization's mission is to "encourage and inspire foster families by meeting their needs", provided the group with insight into their program.

Impact Grant
2019
The PCF was able to award 2 Community Impact Grants in 2019.
$26,000 was awarded to InStride Therapy to start a new therapeutic program for veterans suffering from PTSD and related conditions.
$48,000 was awarded to the Senior Friendship Center in Venice to fully upgrade two of their client lavatories.
2018
The 2018 Impact Grant was awarded to Literacy Volunteers of South Sarasota County. President Bob Hayden and the Impact Grant Committee presented the grant check to Joe Pokorney, LVSSC President, and Claudia Daniels, grant writer and Board Member.
The award of $19,271, will be used to fund a Study-Lab Program located in the Family Services Center, North Port, FL.
2017
The 2017 Impact Grant awarded to Habitat for Humanity South Sarasota County is presented to Aimee Holmes, Chief Develpment Officer.
The Foundation has generously partnered with Habitat to lauch a new home revitalization program, A Brush with Kindness. The award of $16,000, along with paint donated by Sherwin Williams, will be used to paint one home per month for a qualified homeowner.
2016
Members of Plantation Community Foundation celebrate, with volunteers and the Executive Director of the Englewood Community Care Clinic, Inc., the Community "Impact Grant" which is funding a complete new laboratory.
2014-2015
Partnership
Plantation Community Foundation's partnership with Gulf Coast Community Foundation provided funding for two new STEMsmart (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) classrooms in Venice Middle School.
